Swan Island
I had driven by a boat launch / dock area with a sign for "Swan Island Ferry" a few times and it's always been packed, so I decided to finally check it out.
Much to my surprise, it ended up being an amazing remote getaway that's practically in my backyard. There's hiking, camping, and kayaking opportunities with chances to see an abundance of wildlife, or evidence of wildlife at the very least. There's also a bit of history on the island with homes and a cemetery dating back to the 1800's. I only spent 4 hours on the island, due to the ferry schedule, but will be going back for more exploration.

Google tells me this is Amanita Jacksonii, which is supposed to be pretty tasty, although something took a bite and seemed to disagree. There are many types of Amanita, some deadly poisonous, like the Amanita Bisporigera (Destroying Angel) and the Amanita Phalloides (Death Cap) which can cause death within 24 hrs.
